Educational Requirements: 1) Ph.D in the relevant subject or 2) Masters Degree in Engineering from a recognised university or equivalent with at least (55%) in any specified subject/relevant area with 2 years relevant experience; or 3) Bachelor�s degree in Engineering from a recognised university or equivalent with at least first class (60%) in any specified subject/relevant area with 4 years of relevant experience; or 4) Holding analogous posts on a regular basis; or in the pay scale of PB-3 Rs. 15600-39100+GP of Rs.5400/-., with 3 years experience in a Government/Semi Government institution.
Experience Requirements: Experience in Design/Construction of Ship's machinery & systems in a design organization/shipyard or Plan approval functions in specified subject/relevant area in a classification society/statutory bodies. OR Teaching and Research in an academic Institution/Research & Development organisation / Laboratory in the field of Ship systems. OR at least 2 years of sea service as engineer in management level (as defined in STCW Convention as amended) on foreign going ships with MEO Class I (motor) certificate of Competency or equivalent. OR at least 4 years of sea service as engineer in operational level (as defined in STCW Convention as amended) on foreign going ships with MEO Class IV (motor) certificate of Competency or equivalent.
