The Indian Engineering Services or IES is a prestigious exam conducted by the Union Public Services Commission that gives an opportunity to serve in the technical and managerial cadres in the Indian government. Qualifying for IES requires that the candidate should be at least 21 years of age, and the upper age limit is 30 years that is relaxed in case of backward categories and some other cases. A basic engineering degree of a recognized university in India or an Engineering degree/diploma from a foreign University that is recognized by the Indian Government makes one eligible to apply. In addition, passing Section A and B of the Institution of Engineers or Graduate Membership Examination of the Institute of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (India) could make you eligible for IES.
