Govt Jobs for Driver

The job openings for the post of drivers in government sector are really promising. The requirement could vary as in a driver for a heavy vehicle or a light weight vehicle, but the chances are umpteen. The eligibility criteria often vary with the purpose. But one could easily say the basic requirements stand somewhat the similar. The desirable qualification for a government driver is just 8th standard. He must possess a valid motor driving licence either heavy or light weight vehicles or both as per the post applied. He should also have some working knowledge of the motor mechanism and better communication skills. Depending upon the post a working experience of 3 or more years especially when it comes to heavy vehicles are also desirable. The most desirable age limit is 25-30. However for light weight vehicles even 18 years is considered. The upper age limit is also subjected to relaxations on the basis of categories and can even hike up to 50 years in case of SC/ST candidates and 45 years for general candidates. The pay scale ranges between Rs. 5200-20200. As in every government posts here also there are frequent pay revisions and hikes. You can apply for the post by filling in an application form in the prescribed Performa along with your photographs and copies of other relevant certificates. This includes certificate of educational qualification, driving licence, birth certificate, non-creamy layer certificate for OBC candidates and SC/ST caste certificates if applicable, experience certificates if any and discharge certificate from defence service for Ex-servicemen. The application forms should be type written. Enclose along with the application form a self addressed stamped envelope as well. Once you have sent in the application form, it goes through a series of screening processes evaluating your application against other candidates and if yours’ hold good, then you shall be called in for the next stage. At this stage they will evaluate driving skills followed by a short personal interview. Once you have qualified them, an appointment order shall be sent your address, employing you to the post.
