Police Inspector Recruitment

The post of inspector belongs to police department as well as in industries in quality control department. Both the places use the post of inspector in a number of departments. However, there is a difference. In the police department, the post of inspector follows a different hierarchy than that in the quality control department. However, both the ranks are equally important and pay out good salary and benefits. In many rural areas the police inspectors usually (but not necessarily) have jurisdiction over a number of police stations (usually under the police Sub Inspector). Since the Inspector is in charge of a police circle (consisting of one or more police stations) she/he can also be referred as the circle inspector. Moreover, in a number of cities, the Inspectors are the Station House Officer or SHO at each police station. India being a big country, large numbers of inspectors are always required to fill up the vacancy in different police stations. The basic qualification required for the post of Inspector is a degree in Arts, Science or Commerce from a recognized Indian University. Age should be between 20-30 years (relaxable for SC/ST/OBC/ex-service men by 05 years). For male candidates: height should be minimum 170cms and chest 81-86cms. And for female candidates: height should be minimum 152 cms. And weight: 47.5 kg. The candidates must be a bonafide citizen of India. The candidates should be of sound health, free from defect / deformity / disease. Both eyes should have a vision 6/12 (without glasses). No relaxation is allowed to any category of candidates on this count. The selection is based on a written test followed by the physical efficiency test. The subjects for the written test are General Hindi and General Knowledge. Successful candidates are called for an Interview.
